Tila Comstock said when she was 17 years old, her mother Patricia Lane, who still lives in Fayetteville, taught her something she never forgot—-"Always get your own!" During that time, Tila had aspirations of becoming an attorney. She graduated from Reid Ross High School in Fayetteville, and went on to North Carolina Central University in Durham to study political science.Tila , a Fayetteville native, is the general sales manager of Beasley Broadcast Group’s Foxy 99 and KISS107.7FM. She’s been with the company for six and half years—an account representative for a year, local sales manager for more than two years, and the general sales manager for more than three years. She is also the president as well as co-owner, with Dale Comstock her husband of 9 years, of Risk Control Institute, Inc., a security consulting firm. Tila may have had a law career in mind when she was younger, however with youth comes the ability to change your mind every 2-3 hours. "Plans to be an attorney got way off-track, but I accidentally found another calling in life—- SALES," she said. After spending 10 years in the Triangle, Tila returned looking for a career change; she landed her first radio sales position with Classic Rock B-107, at that time a Muirfield Broadcasting property. She stayed for two years and learned her way through the competitive trenches of the results-driven world of radio sales. "Later, I moved to the ‘Big Dogs’ in the market, the Beasley Broadcast Group. I really enjoy my role because I love helping people succeed—-our clients, my sales teams, as well as our company." Tila is a drum major for teamwork. Teamwork is important; everyone has a role and when they do their part effectively, it can lead to success. For that reason, Tila feels a sense of accomplishment once a project is completed—a project that started from brainstorming various ideas, putting the plan together, and then seeing it through until the end!
Today, Tila is actively pursuing her doctorate degree in Naturopathy (Natural Health) from Clayton College of Natural Health.. "My career has been a major personal accomplishment and challenge for me... I happen to love challenges. I’m always looking for new ways to raise the bar...to challenge the norms," she said. "I can humbly say that Beasley Broadcast Group must think I’m capable of hitting their marks because they have trusted me to lead the staff, and form new partnerships and continue the growth of existing partnerships with clients for the number 1 and number 3 stations in market, Foxy99 and Kiss 107.7." Tila’s professional background is full with 15 years of people oriented positions that include retail management, property management, the airline & travel industry, automotive sales, and insurance sales. Tila and Dale have a daughter Channing who is 6 years old, and she has two step-children, Danielle (21years old) and James (18 years old). According to Tila, "They are all brilliant!" Tila also has a younger sister, Marquita, who lives in the Fayetteville area as do her parents Harold and Patricia Lane. "To my father Harold Lane who I call "Homey," you are one of the best examples of a good father anyone can have. I Love You, and thank you for being there for me and my family... Happy Father’s Day!"
