FAYETTEVILLE, NC
– On Friday December 1, 2006, Jason Williams celebrated the expansion and grand opening of his second barbershop, Jason’s Barber Shop, located at 5487 Yadkin Drive in Fayetteville, North Carolina. In attendance was Mrs. Williams, daughter Maya, extended family, co-workers, clients, and the Women’s Business Center staff. The master of ceremony was Krishana Polite, Small Business Consultant and Marketing Specialist for the Women’s Business Center of Fayetteville. Opening remarks presented by Ms. Polite was followed by the official ribbon cutting and refreshments.
A client of the Women’s Business Center for three years, Mr. Williams’ approach to business ownership has resulted in his current success. Mr. Williams worked with the Women’s Business Center’s small business consultant, conferred with lending analyst, and attended business workshops. As a result, he was able to receive financing trough the SBA’s Community Express Loan Program to pursue his dream! He successfully opened his first barber shop on Yadkin Road in October 2003 and purchased a Fantastic Sam’s on the corner of Rosehill Road and Country Club Drive in December 2004. This year he decided to expand, yet again, and open a barber shop seating five with a full service beauty salon. The barber shop is currently open for business and the beauty salon should be completed in the New Year.
Mr. Williams captures our mission by exemplifying: a restoration of personal dignity and economic development. In addition to mastering his craft, he is a motivational speaker to youth, a called upon business advisor, and an entrepreneurial resource in the community. Today we celebrate the expansion of his business and his effort to increase economic empowerment by investing in the community.
